- Interpreting cognitive, aptitude and achievement tests
- Counseling students who are tardy or absent
- Counsel students who have disciplinary problems

- Analyzing grade-point averages in relationship to achievement
- Interpreting student records
- Providing teachers with suggestions for better management of study halls
